NATIONAL ROLLER HOCKEY LEAGUE DRAFT & DECLARATION LIST
How To Play In The National Roller Hockey League
Players interested in competing in the 2020 NRHL season need to declare themselves eligible for the NRHL draft by midnight on February 29th.
Declaring for the draft does not guarantee that a player will be drafted by one of the four NRHL teams (Detroit, St. Louis, Port Huron, Grand Rapids) nor does it assure a spot in the league. However, if you do not declare by the deadline then you will not be eligible to be drafted, sign later or play during the 2020 season.
A link to declaring for the draft can be found here: Draft Form. It is also available on all league and team websites as well as on all social media accounts.
The February 29 deadline is a firm date due to the considerable player interest in the NRHL. Many top players have already declared.
As such, the NRHL Draft will be staged over a 7-week period beginning on Jan. 18. Each team will make one selection per week on Saturday Night (Jan. 18, Jan. 25, Feb. 1, Feb. 8, Feb. 15, Feb 22 and Feb. 29).
The draft order is:
*** PLAYERS WHO HAVE SUBMITTED INFORMATION PREVIOUSLY OR ATTENDED A COMBINE DO NOT HAVE TO RESUBMIT INFO.
The NRHL will hold a two round Supplemental Draft on Saturday March 28th.
A franchise holds the rights to any player it drafts for three years. At that time a drafted player will become an unrestricted free agent, even if a player does not enter the league with the team that drafted them or is traded by the team that drafts them.
The 2020 NRHL season will begin on May 2020. It will consist of 26 regular season games, followed by 2 best of 3 semi-finals playoff series and a best of 3 championship series.
